New Year’s Eve - Song Votes Coming In!

Ticket holders to New Year's Eve with Darren Hayes in Manchester this year have been voting on songs from a list of rarities they'd like to hear included in the show. The results are trickling in and there's a bit of a pattern emerging. Obviously this will change as more ticket holders cast their vote closer to the show - but here's a snapshot of the Top 5 from Monday April 25. Don't forget, if you want to purchase tickets to the NYE show CLICK HERE for more details.

5. At fifth place is 'Light' from the album 'The Tension and the Spark'.  Darren only performed this song two or three times during the 'Dark Light' tour of the UK in 2004.  It was removed from the show mid-tour and has never been performed live since.

4. 'Promises' - A Savage Garden song that Darren once famously said was his 'least favourite'.  He must be feeling more forgiving of it as he put it on the list and fans seem to be making a play for him to include it.  Hasn't been performed live since its inclusion on 'The Future of Earthy Delights' tour of 1998.

3. 'This Side of Me' - Another Savage Garden song and a b-side that has also not been performed since 1998.

2. 'Ocean' - A co-write with Rick Nowels and only ever released as a demo recording.  One of Darren's favourite songs strangely enough (which begs the question why was it never officially released or put on an album?).  Regardless you seem to love it and it's currently the 2nd most voted for song.

1. The song in the lead, sitting at number one with most of your votes is 'California' -  A song Darren wrote on his own for 'Truly Madly Completely - The Best of Savage Garden'.  He has never performed the song live - so this will take some rehearsing!

As stated, results will ebb and flow - but this list was compiled by mostly pre-sale and fan club votes over the past week so the pattern looks pretty solid.  Has your favourite song made it? Or is it just sitting outside the top 5?

Only ticket holders may vote - and details of how to purchase tickets can be found HERE.
